Since 1986
The School of Business Management was established in the year 1986 with the course BBM. In 2009 an additional course was introduced by the department BBM (CA). Later the courses BBM & BBM (CA) have been changed as BBA & BBA (CA) by the Bharathiar University in the year of 2011.
BBA and BBA (CA) are programmes which help students to develop organizational skills, administrative skills, business discipline and concepts relevant to Information Technology applicable to business. It also helps the management to develop through their decision making styles and handle managerial situations aptly, through their skilful and well organized planning.
The courses prepare the students to showcase their best skills in post graduation programmes like MBA, M.Com, MIB, MBM, MSW, MCA, CA, ACS, ICWA etc. In order to stand and to equip them adequately so as to face the competitive world the students take part in all managerial activities like management meet, Quiz competitions, and Entrepreneurship activities.
Each and every management related activity will help the students to accommodate themselves in the organizational environment. So the department has formed two associations like BUZZMENT for BBA and BUZZTECH for BBA (CA) with the Chairman, the Secretary as office bearers; moreover activities of different clubs like E.X.A.M Forum, Quiz club, EDC club, Sports Club, Entertainment Club and Buzzone (Marketing Club) are organized by the Chief Strategy Manager, the Event Explorer and the Field Trafficker.
The UGC sponsored Career Oriented Programme (COP) offered by the department is Event Management caters to the core concept of Event Management included in the syllabus.

Programmes like BBA and BBA (CA) open up excellent opportunities for placement in outstanding companies both in India and abroad in specific department such as Accounting, Marketing, Human Resource, Banking, Financing, Consultancy, Information Systems and Global Business Management.
